Internal USB card reader booting Issue (Desktop)

Hello Linuxians,

I am having a booting and mounting issue with my USB 2.0 internal card reader.

When I boot into linux it attempts to mount to the 4 drives that make up my card reader. However it fails. It's like it doesn't realize that the reader is removable storage and there is no media in it. If I open my case and unhook the USB from the reader Ubuntu will boot up normally.

How can I correct this and let Ubuntu know that these are removable media devices? There are no drivers for the device as it is just basically a USB hub.

Please keep in mind that I am extremely new to linux and have absolutely zero knowledge of even basic commands in the terminal.

Why do you say it is trying to mount the drives and fails? What happens on the stop? Any shell or anything?

In the Ubuntu splash screen it will say " Unable to mount drive Press F to Retry, S to skip, Etc.."

It will say this for each of the four card readers (removable drives).
