I have an AMR software modem in the computer, and it does not work, so can anyone please tell me where I can find driver this modem. |
i have the same one..
Hi There,
I have the same computer and same OS, I also looked for the drivers, I sent email to Toshiba and Lucent to get me drivers and they told me they do not published any Linux drivers for that specific modem under Linux. This was about 2 months ago.. Jeff Cohen |
Hope this helps
Hi, I recently bought a laptop with an internal modem made by Lucent and this helped a lot in seeting it up. Only some Lucent modems work so be prepared that in the end it may not workat all - however on the upside I have heard that Toshiba laptops are well covered in the linux community so you may be alright.
Good Luck! |

I also thought my software modem, or Winmodem as they are sometimes called, was a no-go with Linux until I found out recently that not only was there drivers, put out by the vendor(?), but that they were providing them as Source! instead of pre-compiled modules which would have required me to downgrade kernels. StarTAC has probably combed the web already, but you might want to try just plugging in the type of modem to: the source. Cheers, Finegan I'm still out of luck with my digital camera though :( |
