Interface config in Ubuntu

Hi All,

My Ubuntu laptop is connected to Wifi and it's getting IP address via DHCP.

krishna@krishna-Satellite-M300:/etc$ ifconfig wlp8s0
wlp8s0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:21:6b:24:95:dc
inet addr:192.168.0.130 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
inet6 addr: fe80::221:6bff:fe24:95dc/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:13217 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:8352 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:12005215 (12.0 MB) TX bytes:1877750 (1.8 MB)

I tried to find the corresponding configuration file which has DHCP settings. But I couldn't find that.

krishna@krishna-Satellite-M300:/etc$ cat /etc/network/interfaces
# interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8)
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

krishna@krishna-Satellite-M300:/etc$

Is this the right file to check or is there any other file which hold the configuration of wifi interface?

Krishna

Yes, looks like network-manager is running and its aware of all my SSID and passwords..

krishna@krishna-Satellite-M300:/etc/NetworkManager$ service network-manager status
● NetworkManager.service - Network Manager
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/NetworkManager.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
Active: active (running) since Wed 2017-03-01 12:08:57 PST; 28min ago

The relevant connection configurations are located in the /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ directory, should you wish to look under the hood.
