intel server board s3420gp onboard network not workin on slackware 13
 

Hi guys, I have installed slacware 13 on an intel server, but the IP add that i have assigned does not work. I used ifconfig to check the ip but it shows me 127.0.0.1.
I have run netconfig with the ip address i need and restart the machine, but it goes back to 127.0.0.1

Does the hardware show up in lspci -v with Kernel driver and Modules? Should be e1000 or e1000e if I remember correctly.

You might also try 'ifconfig eth0 up' from elevated console and then 'ifconfig' and see if the eth0 shows up. (this is assuming that 'ifconfig' only gives "lo" and not "eth0")

Unfortunately I don't use slackware and am not sure of any special/default configurations.

thanks will give it a try, so far i have resorted to installing another card for the time being
