Intel NUC - Ubuntu 14.04 - Dual DIsplay Browser Issue

Hi,

I have setup an Intel NUC to run two TV displays on Ubuntu 14.04. On each display I have a Firefox browser and this all works OK. I setup X11VNC and remote in to do any changes.

My issue is that if one or both of the TV's get turned off I lose the placement of the display.

What I mean is that when the TV's are turned back on both Firefox tabs are minimised or on the one screen. This means if I am not around to VNC in the TV's are not displaying the information needed.

Is there a way that when the TV's are turned on it will automatically set each browser to it's relevant TV? Maby something like a Cron job or something automated. Is this possible?

Thanks.

Sounds like a problem I ran into with a windows remote access client... the one bundled in the Symantec trainwreck, I forget the name of it.
It reset monitors, especially dual monitors, because it reset video display settings in order to give me access. Probably doing the same thing to your Xserver.
The fix would be to set up a remote access Xserver config as an alternate and secure shell in and swap it with the existing Xserver set up. That way, when you exit, you can swap them back and the good configuration is unmolested by your remote shenanigans,
