Unhappy Intel driver problem: card g31

Hi I'm new here I recently installed an Ubuntu redistribution called sn0wl1nux onto my memory stick (full install not live cd). Worked fine on my acer aspire laptop with nvidia GeForce graphics... then I decided to boot it on the school computers and it went fine apart from a few issues. 2d applications open, 3d applications refuse to open at all with no apparent error message and the compiz cube effect is enabled but doesn't function at all. From what I here it sounds like a driver issue, but I checked in the additional drivers menu and nothing was there. The school computers use intel g31 integrated graphics. I can not find a documentation about usage with Linux, please help...

Forgot to mention that 3d games function under windows on the same computer and that I have installed nvidia drivers for my laptop card on my Linux memory stick.

If you have installed the proprietary Nvidia drivers to that installed then it is configured to use them. Rename the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf to something other and reboot when using the school computer and rename it back when using your laptop should help.
