Intel dial up card and Hiro v.92 56k agere

I recently purchased a Compaq Deskpro ep/sp series to experiment with Linux. I have partitioned it with Puppy Linux/Windows 2000.It has an ethernet card but I want to put in a dial up card and a modem. I was given an Intel dial up card G5A8pvd and have purchased by mail,a basic modem that listed Linux as one of the things for which it was compatible. The modem is a Hiro v.92 56k agere.I am having a local man put it in. Is there anything special he has to do?.He is not familiar with Linux. This modem is not on your list.
If it doesn't work,I'll install an external serial modem myself.
