Intel Bios Upgrade

As a non-linux user yet I have a question about upgrade of the bios once linux is installed. In my case it will be the IPCop Linux onto an intel motherboard, I am getting the hardware as funds allow. In the XP-Pro world after I load xp I can update the bios and load drivers. My question is under Linux(IPCop) how will I upgrade the Intel Bios??? I have researched this site and also Intel and it looks very bleak to have this support. What can you experienced guys tell me??
Thanks and I will save the answer for sure.

Depends on how Intel distributes those BIOS
upgrades, I guess... if it's a windows executable
that's that, I don't think that Linux will give wine
permission to access the BIOS areas for writing.

If they're a DOS executable you can always boot
of a FreeDOS floppy, no matter what OS.

Cheers,
Tink

Thanks, that is what I figured!!! If need be I could always load xp update the bios and bring linux up. I hope drivers are not a bad problem..video and such. Is there a mother board mfg more friendly towards linux situations with drivers and bios???? I am not hardwired to Intel, they are good for me and I planned on the Intel MB for future use but can change if needed.
