Intel 855GME dualhead, again..

I know there has been several threads about this before, but to sum up (in a newbie level :D) I have tried to compile Intels Mobile Drivers for 855GME found by intel driver search (graphics - mobile - 855 - linux) but no success.

It cannot compile agpgart, nor dri(or what ever it was, sorry I'm using anoather computer now). I cannot remember the error message, but everything should be as in requirements. I have gcc plus all it's gcc-stuff, qt-all, kernel-default and it's -source and something related to kernel modules or something.. shouldn't that be enough? Do I have to do something to my kernel sources?

steps how I do it:
1. download drivers as user X
2. ctrl alt F1 login root
3. init 3
4. ctrl alt F2 login root
5. tar xvf etc... ./install.sh

it detect's kernels sources location and everything is correct (i thinks so, checked) but compiling doesn't work, 2 errors and it says that installation is a failure.

So if you could sum up for a newbie :))

From what you've described, it sounds like what you need is to do a kernel upgrade. Some good instructions about how to do that are all over these forums, but you'd be better off using a kernel that had those drivers built in rather than trying to compile them in yourself. Just my $0.02 USD.
