intel 845 gl graphics

I have pentium4 1.5 system with 256 MB DDR RAM. It has KOB 845GL NDSMx MB with on board sound and graphics. Display adapter is Intel 82845G/GL graphics controller I installed Mandrake Linux 8.2. I get only 16 bit 640x480 resolution for X. Sound is not at all recognised. Any help will be appreciated in making X good and sound functioning.
