Get the patch a apply
patch < mjpeg-color-issue.diff

mkdir goes well

Well, you don't have a file mjpeg2-r201.patch (at least in your working directory) and this is the wrong thing.
Check, if it is somewhere else, or download it separately.

Thank you for the speedy responses.

i have done a search and no mjpeg2-r201.patch is found. i found the file and saved it.

The problem i am now having is that i cant find the motion-svn/trunk directory when i use file browser.

the directory is neil@neil-desktop:~/motion-svn/trunk

How do i get there in file browser so i can copy the downloaded file there?

Got it! i didnt realise it was /home/name/......

ran the patch and the patch ran correctly but it appears not to have fixed the problem the patch was supposed to fix.

thanks everyone who helped though. back to the drawing board

i am using my logitech pro 5000 in the program motion but the colours are all funny. I read on internet that woul should install a patch which consisted of

Get the current svn version of motion

mkdir motion-svn
cd motion-svn
svn co -r201 http://www.lavrsen.dk/svn/motion/trunk .

Get the patch a apply
patch < mjpeg-color-issue.diff

or install mjpegtools package and apply this patch
patch < mjpeg2-r201.patch

but it doesnt seem to work as the colours are still funny. Dont suppose you have any ideas?
