instaltion failure fedora12
 

Hi i have a dell inspiron laptop lap top with windows7 os.my hardisk is 320gb capacity.now i want to install fedora as my secondary os.I tried fedora12 but instaltion terminated abnormally with the message safe reboot needed recievied signal 3.i have 20 gb unallocated space in my disk.is it the problem of partition can any body help me it's urgent thanks in advance.

First of all, Fedora 12 is old and unsupported so you should consider downloading and trying a newer supported version. Second, don't ask for urgent help here, it's only urgent to you and not to us who are all volunteers here at LQ trying to help out users with their Linux questions and/or problems. If the installation terminated abnormally as you stated then it's pretty safe to assume you'd be missing stuff. It would be logical to try to reinstall, but this time use a more recent and supported version.

Fedora is now up to 15 you should probably install that 1 instead as it's supported, not sure if there is support for 12.

According to the release notes found on the link I posted in my previous post Fedora 12 has reached 'End of Maintenance (no more updates)' on December 2, 2010. The same link also lists Fedora 12 as unsupported.
