Installion problem with suse9.1

I'm trying to install suse 9.1, i'm new with linux, i'm getting the following

"Cannot read package data from installation media. media error?"
ERROR: No proposal.

I was wondering if I can download the package from the internet, that is using another computer, then save it on a cd and making the installation look through that cd.

If so were can I download the package needed, and what does it
look like a .zip/ .rar/ .what?

This means that the CD media is scratched or dirty. Try cleaning the CD (if you haven't already) and trying again. ANd if you do need to go onto the net to look for the package, it will be in a .rpm or tar.gz package. Try to find the rpm, it's easier to install.

Smile Thanks

You were right. I re-downloaded suse 9.1 on a brand new cd and installation went well.

To the next glitch.
