Installing with Win2000

I am trying to install Red Hat Linux 7.1 as a dual boot on my PC. I am currently running Windows 2000. I have a second hard drive formatted as FAT32 through Windows 2000 in order to install Linux onto. When I try to boot up off the CD, it says "Boot Failed" Anyone have any experience with this before? Please advise. Thanks.

I don't know about RH 7.1, but I assuming it will be similar to 7.2.

First, make sure the right CD is installed. 7.2 has 2 CDs and only one will boot.

Make sure your second hard drive has space left on it. Linux does not use FAT32 and if you are not using that drive for Windows you will have to reformat it for Linux.

Sorry I don't have more info, pretty much a newbie myself. However, I do belive they recommend RH 7.2 over 7.1. You might try to get 7.2 and install it instead. It installed really easy for me. Everything worked.

Good Luck.
