Installing vmware, will it be slow?

Anyone have tried installing vmware( in order to access windows while using Linux, I was told that its going to be toooooo slow, is that right?

have it done the other way.
itīs slower, of course, but not as expected.
have tested on a box here 512MB (280MB for linux), when the guest is up and running itīs okay for normal use.
