Installing vector linux on sony vaio pcg-c1vn picturebook problem!

ok, I've been to a bunch of website detailing the installation of linux onto this laptop, and I understand theres a problem when booting from the pcmcia cd-rom. Well I don't have that problem with the current version of vector linux, I have the drive partitioned how I want it (through the booted linux setup) but now when I restart to put the file system onto said partition it looks for the "installable system files" on the cd and on the partition and can't find them then it drops me to a "#" prompt after telling me to check the spelling on the file and telling me "the file system is mounted on an unknown disk type". Is there any way to put the veclinux.bz2 onto the linux partition from windows with my cd, should i just do the whole thing with slackware. I have a usb floppy too if I can use that. Any help would be appreciated.

well much to my surprise I found a way around this which was rather devious if I do say so myself, especially since I thought this was going to be one of those linux problems I couldn't figure out on my own. I copied the necessary files from the cd onto my windows partition and then mounted them from the boot prompt I got during my installation then coppied them to the already made partition and then the installation found them. Huzzah.
