Question Installing Ubuntu - Windows already loaded

Dear friends,

I just received the ubuntu CD and cant wait to load it on to my desktop. I would like to be able to run both Windows and Linux. Windws is already loaded. The instructions say 'to use Unutu as a Lice CD put this CD in the CD drive and turn on or restart your computer.' The problem I am facing is that every time I try this the system just ignores the CD and boots from the hard disk. I checked the boot.ini file and it says:
[boot loader]
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute /fastdetect

What do I need to do.

Thanks a bunch,

Have you tried setting your CD drive to be the first boot device in the BIOS?

Your BIOS needs to be set to boot from CDROM first.
