Installing Ubuntu Server on Dell PowerEdge 2850

Hi

Having a Dell PE 2850 and want to install newest Ubuntu server on it. Where can I find information on how to do this?

Thanks

what's to know about it? 1) get installation media 2) boot to installation media 3) follow installer.

Are you having specific issues around this? What kind of things do you want to know?

Downloaded Ubuntu Server X64 onto USB Pendrive and created a CD. However, I cannot get the Dell PE 2850 to boot from either. When trying to boot from Pendrive I am just getting error: "Boot Error". When trying to boot from CD it just won't boot - seems CD is bootable.

or (depending on your version of Ubuntu Server)

Here is some specific info for troubleshooting the problem with your CD-ROM:

It appears you have windows 7, after downloading the iso, you have to select "burn image" if doing cd/dvd.

Hi, done that, but still cannot boot from the DVD. Is there a difference between CD iso and DVD iso?

Thanks

Did you read any of the troubleshooting info I linked to in Post #6, and if so, maybe you can give us more details to help you than "still cannot boot"? :)
