Installing Ubuntu 9.04 to USB HD using Wubi

I have extracted the Ubuntu iso files to a folder on an internal hard drive. When I run wubi, it permits me to select my external USB HD as the installation drive.

If I do not disconnect any internal drives, and press ahead with this install, will it overwrite my MBR? I want it to install completely to the USB HD. Yes, I am being lazy--I don't want to disconnect my internals if I don't have to.

Any help appreciated & thanks in advance.

I don't know what a wubi is but if you want to install and use an O/S on a usb device then perhaps Ubuntu is not the thing to do it on. It, I think only does it to other of the same, also watch out for coded/protected usb devices. It worked for me using Knoppix 6.1
