Installing Ubuntu 8.04 on Toshiba Satellite Pro L 300

Hi All,

I just bought Toshiba Laptop ,Satellite Pro L 300.

On installation i get a kernel panic error?

Tried Window, I got a message telling me that it unable to see the harddisk.

Can anyone please advice on how I can get around this?

Did you buy it with windows vista installed? If so, search google.

Because Vista uses another kind of hard drive, I thought you had to enter BIOS and change it into SATA, but I am not sure, a quick google will find your answer.
