Installing Thunderbird 1.07
Hi all. AT the moment I'm attempt to install and run thunderbird. But I'm having a little trouble. For the last hour I've been running around the mozzila site looking for a walkthough on how to install the software. All I have found was to use the command "run thunderbird" but when I do so all I get it a run command error (I've cd into the folder).
Could anyone offer advice, I sort of loss for what I meant to do. Thanks in Advance. |
cd into the dir where you extracted thunderbird to.
Then type Code:
./run mozilla.sh By the way, what distribution are you using? Because some have packagemanagers which makes installing wery easy. |
Fedora Core 4. I look for a RMP package but there seem to be none. I attempt the command you suggested but got this.

Hi,
Go get the rpm for fedora Core 4 here: ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/fedora/core/...1.fc4.i386.rpm Doubleclick it to install. Or if you prefer from a terminal type: Code:
rpm -i thunderbird-1.0.7-1.1.fc4.i386.rpm |
Thankyou, it went sweet. Also by chance would anyone know where I could find a Java Runtime RPM package?

You can download java here: http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp Grab the Linux RPM (self-extracting file)(filesize: 15.47 MB) And read the instructions ' To install the Linux RPM (self-extracting) file ' Link to instructions here: http://java.com/en/download/help/5000010500.xml#rpm :) |
All went good, Java is installed & Limewire is running sweet. For a fact Limewire is working better in linux then it does in windows. Thankyou again.
