Installing themes in KDE is pain!!

so im trying to install a theme for KDE 3.1 in MD 9.1

i do configure --prefix=/usr; make; make install, everything goes fine, but it turns out that the theme i "installed" doesnt show up in look and feel

what do i do!?

Click the K, then Control Panel, Appearance & Themes, Theme manager
Click add and point it to the theme file or the tar.gz (I think those work too, but don't hold me to it :))
The themes should appear in the list once they are added.

Actually, I checked, you don't need to decompress tar.gz files, or zip files. For that matter any archive that Konqueror can open. It'll open it for you, search for theme files, and add them all :)

everytime i try and click on the tar.gz files in theme manager every one of them tells me that there are no .theme files
