Installing themes in Gnome 2.0
I'm in Gnome 2.0. If I open the gnome-theme-manager (if, of course, it in fact opens instead of crashing) & go to Install theme, it lets me open the tar.gz file (I've got these files in /home/oeln/.themes/ - once I 'install' them the file is no longer there) I indicate & gives me the impression it's installing; but if I go then to look for it in the list of themes offered it isn't there. I've gone through this with over 10 themes, including 'gtk' themes & others (I guess I'm not even certain which themes I ought to be installing).

I'd be grateful for any info or guidance on this..

Thank you,

It has been a long time since I've installed themes in gnome, but in fact, I don't think they appears in the screen where you choose the themes. Click in "custom" instead and you may find the themes "parts" you've installed, such as icons and colors :)

Oh well, I'd be glad to; but I've no longer got an opening gnome-theme-manager - it only crashes & gives me 'fatal error's now..
