Installing TARs

I'm trying to install some tar files but after ./configure,
I get this:

checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!

What does this mean?

Using Mandrake Official 10.1 and KDE 3.2

Thanks in advance

first what are some tar files? what are they? it sounds like you are missing -dev files.

carlindenver 02-02-2006 04:12 PM

knoda-0.8.1-test1.tar.bz2 and
tellico-1.1pre3.tar.gz

it might be the qt-devel. I would do a search and see what dependencies you need. can't you just use mandrakes package installer? I know there are a bunch of mandrake repos out there

try this

look for XBASE Compartible C++ Class library, if it's not installed, install it, and also look for xorg-x11,xorg-x11-devel...........good luck
