Installing Steam and HLDS

I'm having trouble installing HLDSUpdate and Steam for Fedora Core 3 Test 3. Firstly, I'm having trouble finding Steam.bin in the first place (not even sure if I need it or not) and I'm also having trouble ./hldsupdate.bin. It says something about:

sh: uncompress: command not found

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

ok try typing :
Code:
ln -s /usr/bin/gunzip /usr/bin/uncompress
and then try to run that *.bin file again ...
if that don't work then you can just use
the steam updater, or start over by
rm -rf .steam/* and then give it another
shot ..
