Hi,
I recently installed Ubuntu 7.04 on an old computer, this computer doesn't have a network card so is unable to access the internet. When I needed to install some extra software like VLC media player I ran into a bit of trouble.
I read the part of apt-docs regarding offline package installation but I found it really complex, also I tried downloading the packages from
http://packages.ubuntu.com on another computer and installing them with dpkg, but with some thing like VLC which has so many dependencies, it is very hard to download them all, especially when they too have dependencies.
Could anyone advise me on a good way to install software offline?
Thanks
