Lightbulb installing rlt8169 realtek driver in SLED 10

i hav downloaded r8169-6.006.00.tar.bz2 for my realtek nic .

when i run " make clean modules"

the following error is coming -

make[2]: Entering directory '/usr/src/linux-'
make[2]: *** No rule to make target 'modules'. Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory '/usr/src/linux-'
make[1]: *** [modules] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory '/home/umesh/Desktop/r8169-6.006.00/src'
make: *** [modules] Error 2

Plz help.

Maybe mine is a stupid question, but I successfully insstalled a Realtek driver for my RHEL and CentOS so I might be of help.

Are you sure you are correctly following the instructions you got with the tarball?
