Installing Polaroid PDC 2070 webcam under Fedora Core 3

Hi.
I've just recently (about 2 weeks ago) moved to linux with the total determination not to re-install windows ever again.

My digital camera (Polaroid PDC 2070 USB Cam) worked as a webcam under WinXP but I'm having big problems doing the same with Linux (FC3).

It auto-detects the camera as a storage unit, but that's all.

As a newbie, I'm finding it pretty backward feeling crawling through terminal in an unfamiliar file system to try to install something that used to be auto detected.
I've tried auto detecting in Gnome Video Conferencing but to no avail.

I'm using Fedora Core 3 under Gnome if you haven't already picked up on this.
Any helpful replies will be repaid in gold bullion, maidens and blank DVDs.

No one?

No one here knows how I could fix this seemingly simple problem?
