Installing packages ... how to
I found the answer to my problem in another message, and the resolution was to install a package. Problem for me is I don't know how to install a package.

I downloaded the file and untarred it into a temp dir. It gave me two sub-dirs, install and usr. Couldn't find anything in the install dir that led me to be able to install the package.

I know how to install packages with rpm, but this is not an rpm. How do I do it?

Thanks in advance,

What distro?
If you have a RPM based distro, then use RPM, on slack, use installpkg.

I'm using slackware, and installpkg worked GREAT - thanks!
