Installing NVIDIA .run Driver in BackTrack 5 R2
Hello there!
I am trying to install the correct GeForce Driver on BackTrack 5 R2. I have downloaded the correct driver. It is a .run file. I know I have to stop X to install it. I have done that but even after the installer starts up it says that I need to stop the Nouveau kernel driver, can anyone please help me out? Thanks in advance. |
Reboot your machine, choose recovery mode on grub, goto the bottom of menu list and choose root console. Disable the Kernel Nouveau.
Code:
#echo options nouveau modeset=0 | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/nouveau-kms.conf Now open a terminal and boot into runlevel 3. Code:
# init 3 Code:
# sh <filename>.run Good Luck! |
