installing nic drivers

i am trying to install drivers for my intel pro/1000
integrated nic

when i try to use make install

i get an error that says something like

kernel source cannot be found

any help or suggestion would be nice

Oh man, you need your kernel sources installed. You can usually find these off your install cd's to install them.
