Installing new packages
Hi,
I installed red hat 9 via disk images on the hard drive. I still haven't burnt those images onto CDs yet, so when I wanted to install the linux kernel source code, I could not provide disk 1 on the cdrom.
Is there a way of telling the redhat package manager tool to get the RPMs on the disk image?
Thanks in advance,
alf829

i can't see it being possible, but then again i have no idea, and it very well could be...but you could just jump on the cd and type rpm -ivh kernel-source-x.x.x.rpm and that be it, instead of beating your head over something like this.

Mount the iso on /mnt/cdrom
As root:
mount /path/to/disk1.iso /mnt/cdrom -t iso9660 -o ro,loop=/dev/loop0

Thank you both for the suggestions
I'll try mounting it first and if that doesn't work out properly for me, I'll go and rip out the RPMs manually.
Cheers,
