Installing Mysql on Linux

I have tried to install mysql4.0.13 in linux and it is not working .
Here, I downloaded MySQL-4.0.13-0.src.rpm to the specified directory and tried to install it.
I used the command rpm -ivh MySQL-4.0.13-0.src.rpm
It is showing some warnings..

warning: MySQL-4.0.13-0.src.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 5072e1f5
warning: user mysqldev does not exist - using root
warning: user mysqldev does not exist - using root
warning: user mysqldev does not exist - using root

I have also downloaded mysql-debug-4.0.13-ibm-linux-s390.tar.gz and im not sure which one is to be installed. I have the root permissions.
Can any one help me since this is very much critical for me........

What distro are you using? Maybe you should see if a MySQL package is alerady on your distros CD's and it will surely work better and not so much hassle.

The messages it returned are not errors but warnings so not to worry (much). try running the mysql_install_db command to set up the default databeases/tables and try from there.
