installing mysql 4.. need help

hi,,

i am accepting error when i configure my sql 4..

configure: error: This is a linux system and Linuxthreads was not
found. On linux Linuxthreads should be used. Please install Linuxthreads
(or a new glibc) and try again. See the Installation chapter in the
Reference Manual for more information.

Which Linux distribution + version, and exactly which version of MySQL?
Did you install from a pkg mgr or by hand?

i was installing the MySQL 4.0.27,,, i wget then gunzip,, then tar,,,then cd,, etc,, but i wasnt install it by package,, which is better and easier! pls help,, and tnx for helping...

by the way i am installing it to slackware 12

i am using slackware version 12.. MySQL version 4.0.27
