Installing Mplayer on Yellow Dog 6.1

Hi there,

I have been battling to install Mplayer and VLC on Yellow Dog 6.1. I have gone through all the documentation I can understand and have done the "./configure" then the "make" for both and the "make install" for Mplayer. When I try and launch Mplayer, I get this:

[root@localhost mplayer]# mplayer
mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

And I have googled "" and still cannot figure out how to get it installed and/or working on my system.

Any help would be great!

You should install packets named libmad & libmad-devel
