Installing mplayer on debian linux (sarge 3.0)

I am newly to linux and I need to know how to install mpalyer on debian.
Currently I don't have a internet connection. If I have a internet I know that using "synaptic" it can bo done.
Can anybody to help me on this matter ?

I don't think it can be done, mplayer is not part of the official Debian packages. You would have to use an unofficial source. So even if you bought the CD's mplayer will not be on there.

I find gxine works fine !

If you compile it from source it works OK. The documentation contains both how you can install it from source and how you can make a debian package of it and install that.
