hi, i have an old 2006 macbook 64 bit version ,,should i do a clean install using mint or can i install it alongside mac OS

If you no longer want your Mac os than yes, you can perform a fresh installation of Linux Mint.

Should you decide that you want to install Mint alongside your Mac os you will have to shrink your Mac os partition first.
Than proceed installing Mint.
