I have a VB Based ERP that my company has developed. I need to install that and run that thru wine. The ERP uses Microsoft Agent to display an animation on the Login Screen. I was able to install the ERP on Linux thru wine without any problems. After that, when I tried to install the Microsoft Agent from the same setup CD, it failed to install. Further, since the login screen is the 1st screen of the program, I am not able to run the ERP itself.

Any guidance as to how I can install Microsoft Agent on my Linux box thru wine?

Updating wine to the latest version is probably a good option.

Wine is alpha software so they are still improving Windows apps support in wine.

Usually I find that updating to the latest Wine fixes problems faced by the earlier versions because it keeps getting updated fairly frequently.
