Installing Mandrake from the hard drive
Since installing it from the cd-roim wouldn't work I tried installing it this way. I have the nessacary files downloaded on an external hard drive, but what I want to do is erase my internal drive that is running Windows with the Drakx partition manager. So I get to the partitions step, clear the Windows partition, create the neeeded partitions for Mandrake, and then I click done, with no problems so far. So then my computer reboots to make the changes and I get back to the partitions step of Drakx. I click Use Existing Partitions, and continue with the ones I created and I get this error- "An error occurred: no hdlists found." So then I try the Use Free Space method and I get "Partitioning failed: partitions sector #16191 (57 gb) and sector #16178 (57 gb) are overlapping!" The thing is that the 57 gb drive isn't even the one I want to install Mandrake to.
So, please, what could I do to fix this? |

hi,
I a quiet similar task. Installing the new kernel of the Mandrake 10.1 CD's does not work for me because I get the message "no cdrom device found". I tried to put the isos on the NTFS partition where the XP is located. If I choose "hdd installation" from the list I have to enter the correct path. mine is "iso". Than it starts with the installation program. All right til the formating procedure. If formating is done i get the error: "no hdlists found" Any suggestions? |
