Thumbs down Installing Mandrake 8 with WinME

So. How is it possible to boot Windows ME from lilo? I understand that ME is not booted in the same way as 95/98 (from DOS) and that this probably caused all of my aggravation (trying to remove that bootloader was an iron-cast-bee-atch).

So I ask the question:

"Is it even *possible* to have a (successful) dual-boot system with Mandrake and Windows ME?"

Thanks for the assistance!

Oh, yeah, details:

WinME was already installed.
Installed Mandrake 8 with resizing of ME partition.

Mandrake booted FINE, I had no problems with it (except for trying to unsuccessfully list the contents of my data cd, but that's a different story)

I tried simply rebooting, completely power-down, boot-disks, etc. and nothing worked, I just kept getting a blank screen with a cursor in the upper-left corner. I let it sit there like that for approximately 30 minutes just in case the Celeron 650MHz was having a problem adjusting to it's new responsibilities...still nothing.

Had to uninstall everything and reinstall WinME and now $30 worth of Mandrake is sitting in it's shredded box (it happens when I get mad) waiting to be put to some use.

I still need Windows (even though I HATE, HATE, HATE it) so it's not an option to have only Linux installed.

This must be one of those questions that doesn't deserve an answer...
