installing Mandrake 8.1

Hey everyone, I would like to install Mandrake 8.1 to go along with my windows 98 and would like some advice. I would like to know what is the easiest way to go about this? I have a 10 GB hard drive which is my primary drive and I have a second (D) drive which has 5 GB /30GB used. Thanks for the help!

well, if your second drive is one large drive and not partitioned, then your going to have to repartition it, unless you don't want the data on there or can back it up, you can install linux on that drive and create your partitions during the install...
if you can't back up your data, best thing to do is get partition magic or something similiar and use it to break down your large partition on the drive, saving the 5 gig you have on there and creating the others that way...

when i go to partition the hard drive, do i need to use something like partition magic or will mandrake do it during install? Thanks!

mandrake comes with a tool called diskdrake which can repartition your drive.. partition magic is if you want to save data on a drive and move it over so you don't lose that data..
