Installing Linux with problem CD-Rom

hi all..

ok so with the best intentions, I'm trying to load SUSE onto an oldish Pentium...

now the things never had a CD-Rom and I had an old one lying around. The prob is that I can't seem to get the installation procedure to read the instal CD..(I boot with floppy and then point to the CD later on)

I booted into NT which is what's on the machine at the moment and I can access the CD.

any ideas ? what am I not doing ?

then I select Text mode

then I go to manual mode and selct language, keyboard etc. then it tells me to make sure the CD1 is in the CD-Rom...

after that is say it cannot mount CD-Rom ....
