installing Linux mint on Hyper-v


hi all,

i am soo new to linux and at the moment i am trying to install linux mint on hyper-v hosted by a server 2008 OS but the installation never gives a success. i have also tried ubuntu and red-hat but i seem to be unable to use my mouse on it which makes it difficult to navigate.

If you just want to try linux, you could use virtualbox or vmware workstation (You can get a 30 day free trial key for this)

Hyper-V

While it CAN be made to work (command-line only is easier than desktop) you are working with a product owned and provided by a company that has a history of supporting ONLY their OWN software and systems and (when they could) blocking all others.

Even if you get it to work, do you really trust that?
