Hi,
I'd suggest trying a live distro like Knoppix. http://www.knoppix.org/. This has a reputation of excellent hardware detection and will give you an idea of any hw probs you may encounter without having to install anything. |
my internet connection is a bit slow. I hav redhat 9 and fedoracore 4 cds cant i install from them
I hope you meant 30 gig, not meg.
do you have 30MB or 30GB free?
i'm not sure what the problem could be, especially if your windows is running ok. i'd presume the installer would not need free hard drive space immediately, and would later give you an option of partitioning your drive?? did you try some of the options at boot screen http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/fedora...tallation.html ie "F2".... |
sorry its 30 gb & I didnt get the second screen(which its showing in the above link) its getting struck before
The second Screenie is text mode, i'd try installing via that, it's pretty much the same as graphical (its not loads of obscure commands)
As soon as i press enter in the first menu a list scrolls down and its getting struck
Try this: open up windows fdisk. Set that unpartitioned space to a secondary partition in windows. Then format it to Fat32 (not NTFS), or don't format it if you cant get it to Fat32. Redhat/Fedora can't detect NTFS out of the box. The try installing.
It more than likely won't fix your problem, because from what I can tell, you are getting some kind of kernel panik during intial bootup. Please provide more information on what your screen is saying. |
