Installing LinDVD?

Hi all,

First let me start by saying THANK GOD for this place Otherwise Id be totally lost in Linux.

Im very new to Linux, just installed RH9 about 2 days ago and once i figured out how to get my wireless connection working I decided to start installing software, which leeds me to my question:

I want to install LinDVD but Im so "windowized" that I cant seem to figure it out. Ive read the read me but its somewhat confusing.
Essentially I have a libqt.so.2 file that I believe is the install program?? but ...how do i install it?

the location is: /mnt/cdrom

do i need to run it from a terminal window or..???

Forgive my ignorance,
Aaragon

Well this isn't really a post to tell you how to install LinDVD but I'm going to suggest installing and using mplayer instead located at http://www.mplayerhq.hu which is probably the best for watching any type of video on Linux, including DVD's.

Search this forum, we have many many threads regarding this if you run into problems.

You might consider taking a gander at the tutorial over at www.linux.org It will teach you basic usage of linux commands, and a small explaination of the filesystem structure. Also, there are a link or 2 in my sig that will explain commands and their usage that might help you.

Once you get the hang of basic command line usage such as:
ls (list files)
cd (change directory)
Then you will have a MUCH easier time playing around/installing things in linux

Cool
