Installing Lindows HELP

I just spend 60 dollars on Lindows and can't get it to work. I can get the bonus CD to work though. I would really like to get the real version to work.
I pretty new to linux any help would be appreciated.
This is the message I got
kernel panic: no init found try passing init= option to kernel
and it just hang there.
I have two more hard drive on my PC and it though it might be a problem. I unplugged both of them and still having trouble.
Please Don't tell me I wasted my money for nothing.
It's just not as easy as it sound from their website.

ok, so u installed Lindows?

also, what kind of harddrives are u using, specifically the one being booted from (are they ide or scsi)

also, what boot loader are u using? post the .conf file here so we can look at it

(btw, not to burst your bubble or anything, u may not like lindows..., it's kind of hard to get it to do anything)

I have Promise add on card but I unplugged everything and leave only 1 primary IDE on master.
NOt really sure what your question is. I boot to linux (it has couple option and linux is the first one I believe. Did I answer your question ?

I installed it. Boot from CDrom. use entire hard drive. follow the instruction on screen remove the disc and reboot and got this
message on screen kernel panic: no init found try passing init= option to kernel

I figured it out. I finally get it to installed. What I did was partioning it with Partition magic 7 as a linux drive.
May be Lindows should look into incorporated that into their system. Instead of trying to make it look fancy like Windows XP.
Concentrate on the compatability and easy to install issue. Thanks for your help.

is there a link to lindows to download it

Andy@DP 09-08-2003 06:59 AM

No as far as I know you have to shell out the cash for it. Also I've heard more bad things about it than good so go for RH or Mandrake if your looking for a distro, especially if its your first.

Hope that helps,

edit: you may be able to find a download link from google, but i believe they will be on warez or other nasty pirate sites and NOT supported by the people behind lindows.
