Smile installing libxaw for gxine to install

hi :-)
i'm trying to install gxine, i've installed xine and afterwards run ./conffgure for gxine, it gave me this error:
"error: you need to install libxaw header files (-dev package)"
what do i do? (or how do i install libxaw?)
and while i'm at it, how do i add a directory to the path at startup
(or where is the autoexec.bat ? )

TnX Y'Guys
