installing kubuntu- what should i do next

i am trying to dual boot kubuntu and windows on my computer. i have shrunk my windows partition, or data partition by 25 gb. i want to know what i should do after i free up the space. i dont know what to do next. am i ready to go in right from the cd and install?

yep, as long as there's space, go nuts. The installer will handle everything else, like the bootloader.

hm. the problem is, i cant go nuts. i have the free space that4 i have freed up right now. its freed space that has been shrunk off my data drive. but i cant use it for some reason. says its unusable. this is where i'm stuck. shouldnt it jsut create a partition using the free space?
