installing knoppix on hard disk

hello,

I want to install knoppix on my hard disk of my netbook, I did manage to boot knoppix from usb to a live session. But when I try to install it, it says my hard disk does not have a compatible partion table or something.

please check this link:

Does /dev/sda (the first SCSI/SATA drive) contain any important data?

/dev/sda is blank
does Knoppix have Gparted?

try putting "sudo gparted /dev/sda"
in terminal

if it has Gparted, open it as above
and at top it says "Devices"
and click where it says "Create partition table"
and create msdos table
then make whatever partitions,etc

or you could use cfdisk too

I'd just try to wipe it, like this:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda

Be CERTAIN that /dev/sda has no data you care about, it will be LOST FOREVER!

There are plenty of how-to's on the web on that subject. Did you use one to try this?

It is not an easy task for beginners either but can be done.
