Installing Knoppix 3.4 on hd

I am trying to install Knoppix 3.4 on my hard drive. After I use knoppix-installer, it takes to partition my hard drive. When I attempt to partition it, the screen goes blank with a message at the bottom, "Open disk read -only- you have no permission to write", then, "FATAL Error: cannot read disk drive Press any key to exit cfdisk" I the use the Microsoft fdisk to try to delete the partitions but I get the "Cannot delete Extended DOS Partition while logical drives exist " and when I try to remove the logical drive in the extended dos partition, I get this, "No Logical Drives defined". Do I have to delete the partitions this way or is there some way I can do it through knoppix?

knoppix-installer uses the cfdisk partitioning utility under the first option "Configure Installation". You use cfdisk to add and delete partitions.

Although this is some work, it would be helpful if you could post exactly what partitions you currently have, and what partitions you want to end up with.
